Fitness Boot Camp: Baseball
Dan Clay
Playing on a baseball team at fitness boot camp is a great way to stay fit and to lose weight. Baseball requires using your arm strength for batting the baseball as well as using the power in your legs to run around the bases. If you have enough speed during a home run, you can make it back to home before the baseball is thrown back to home base.
For a baseball game at fitness boot camp, everyone feels welcome and the team members are like one big family. There are nine players on each of two opposing teams. There is usually a lot of cheering when someone hits a homerun and runs past first base, then second base, then third base, all the way to home base again. Onlookers cheer for the team players also. It does not matter what level you are at: from beginners to advanced baseball players, the fitness needs of everyone is accommodated at fitness boot camp. Playing the game on a large field gives team members plenty of space to run to catch the ball and to get a lot of good running exercise.
Baseball at fitness boot camp is sometimes so popular that it is a good idea to sign up early to reserve your spot at camp. Some time is set aside to train all members of the team to improve their pitching skill and to improve their skill at hitting a baseball with a baseball bat. Practice makes perfect. Even if you miss the ball three times and strike out, don’t get discouraged because it happens to most people one time or another. The goal is to keep with it. The team that has the highest score after nine innings wins. If there is a tie, the teams play until the tie is broken. The motivation provided by your fitness boot camp instructor and your fellow teammates is invaluable.
At fitness book camp, the instructor will not tolerate bad-mouthing players who are trying but just are having bad luck at hitting the baseball with the baseball bat. It just takes patience and concentration to succeed at the sport of baseball. A good baseball fitness boot camp is one where there is a strong team spirit. Working together in a positive supportive environment at baseball fitness boot camp is encouraged.
Because team players at fitness boot camp have been so satisfied and happy with playing baseball, they often are repeat enrollees. And you can ask your friends and family to recommend the fitness boot camp programs that they have surveyed or attended to find out which ones they liked the best.
Baseball, hot dogs, and apple pie are favorites in the USA; but the sport (and the food) has become popular all over the world, as far reaching as Japan. The history of baseball is interesting to know. There are two different possible roots to the origin of the game. Some propose that baseball was invented in 1839 by Abner Doubleday in Cooperstown, New York. Others propose that baseball developed from an 18th-century English game called rounders that was modified by Alexander Cartwright (Answers.com, 2009). In any event, baseball is an American style pastime that is an excellent way to remain fit through participating in baseball games at fitness boot camp.
There is a baseball song that can be sung at baseball fitness boot camp, and the words are as follows: “Take me out to the ball game, take me out to the crowds; Buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks; I don’t care if I never get back; So let’s root root root for the old team; If they don’t win it’s a shame; For its one, two, three strikes your out at the old ball game”. This is a classic song that gets team players in the spirit of the game. Good camaraderie is what it is all about at baseball fitness boot camp. You too, may find yourself walking home singing after a game of baseball at fitness boot camp.
