Free Golf Tips For Beginners
Admin
Free golf tips for beginners…Where to begin? Before you even begin, you need to get some fundamental basic golf tips from an instructor. The worse thing you can do is start playing golf without knowing what you’re doing. What will happen is you’ll develope bad golf swing habits that will be very hard to reverse or change later on. When you get in trouble, you will revert back to your old bad habits and your golf game will never get any better. Sound familiar?
After learning the basics, the best thing you can do is practice, practice, and practice some more at the golf driving range. You need to develope a routine that you do the same way every time. This way, when you get nervous or anxious, you can take a deep breath and go through your routine to calm you down. The driving range is where you can try different things to see what works for you. The main rule is to be relaxed and don’t rush. I see golf beginners swing fast and hard like their trying to kill the ball. When that happens, their legs and arms are all over the place, resulting in consistent bad shots. Slow your golf swing down to about 80 to 90 percent and keep your lower body quiet throughout the swing. Keep your legs and hips fairly still and turn your upper torso around and then release. By swinging a little easier, you’ll find that you can control your golf ball better and end up in the fairway more often. Its nice to hit a long drive but, its useless if you end up in the trees or out of bounds all the time. Don’t try to make your golf swing a quick blur, slow it down a little and keep your eye on your ball until you hit it.
The main mistake that I see beginners make is falling back or away from their ball when they swing. What’s happening here is most of us grow up playing baseball or softball and we’re trying to duplicate that when we’re playing golf. Big mistake. In baseball, your weight is on your back foot. In golf, your weight needs to transfer and end up on your front foot, as you swing through. To help you get the feel for that, I have a golf tip for you to try the next time you go to the driving range. When you get into your golf stance, place a golf ball under your back foot on the outer edge and that will force you to place more of your weight on your front foot. Now swing and feel and see the difference. Practice this and I guarantee you that your game will get better. Remember, slow down your swing. See you on the blog side.
